ya_Next v7 beta
Please note: This is a beta version of the upcoming release. It runs internally without issues, but on different setups, there may be quirks. If you encounter anything unexpected, please let us know!
ya_Next, a second, persistent cue list for Ableton Live.
Whenever you need to stay in a predefined scene order ("cue list") but also want to jump around and improvise your set… ya_Next keeps you in check.
I.e. preparing theater shows in Ableton Live often involves a transitional phase: while the creator is still fine-tuning elements, the technician already needs to run the show cue by cue without interruption. This is precisely what ya_Next was designed for.
ya_Next allows you to build a cue list out of all scenes or just those starting with "§" in their name. This list is then presented in a separate window (i.e. on a second monitor) and can be stepped through with a single KEY/MIDI button (incl. auto-select next scene on launch)… completely separate from whatever else happens in Live… The show goes on!
This device, like all ya_devices, has been created out of a personal need many years ago and became an essential part of our show production process.
It's not for everyone, but who needs it… needs it badly and will never go back to the scary days of a single scene list.
New in Version 7
Markers Use §§ to highlight scenes as markers (e.g. chapters or acts). You can jump directly between these markers using dedicated MID/KEYI buttons.
Second Window A second cue list window can be opened independently. This is useful for monitoring what the technician is seeing. Each window can be sized individually.
Scrubbing Assign MIDI controls for forward and backward scrubbing. This allows the technician to rewind or fast-forward the transport—helpful when a rehearsal picks up a few bars into a cue. You can adjust the number of bars to jump in the preferences (click Yarhammer logo).
Export The cue list can now be opened as plain text for easy copy/paste into scripts or documentation.
Dynamic Theme Adaptation All colors now automatically adjust to match the selected Live theme.
Doubble Launch Prevention
You can set a "debounce delay" in ms. Click on the Yarhammer logo to access this preference
